He made a pile of money off of these newsletters and we're to believe that a doctor like himself couldn't find the time in a week to read twelve pages or even glance at the newsletter being published with his name on it, that no one in his orbit brought the racist passages to his attention, that he has no idea who on his staff might have written such a thing, that he didn't fire them, and that he wasn't even interested in the content of what was a tremendous money maker for him. Was he doddering at the age of fifty, a racist, or just stupid? Any of the three would be enough.
