The 28-year-old right-hander, a Scott Boras client, to date has not drawn the interest he expected in this market, and if he would sign for short money, particularly a one-year deal, the Sox could indeed be a major player.
I don't see how they get Jackson or Oswalt for less than the $10 million for one year that Kuroda got from the Yankees, a price tag already deemed "too rich" for the Red Sox.
