It's difficult to tell what actually happened at this match, outside of a soccer riot. The accounts are rife with common middle eastern themes" conspiracy theories, the blamelessness of your side and the incarnate evil of the other, incompetent officials, conspiracies involving plots by officials to appear incompetent when really they could have gained control at any point.

I don't think this was an uprising, but you have to assume that the average Egyptian is now thinking that this sort of thing wasn't happening when they had a military dictator. That is much more worrisome.
