If you recall Hanley Ramirez was part of the trade that brought over Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell from Florida, so he was actually drafted by the Red Sox.
The Marlins have a new stadium and new uniforms and have re-styled themselves "Miami" instead of "Florida", even taking on new colors. They have also spent like a gazillion dollars on free agents, bringing in Jose Reyes ($21 million per year) from the Mets and Mark Buehrle ($15 million per year) from the White Sox and even (fake, maybe) bidding on Albert Pujols. Pretty predictably, after these moves fail to produce wins and the fans resume showing up in mediocre numbers, the Marlins will have a sell off and Hanley will be available then. For a song, even.
