Word has it that Sveum is allowing the Red Sox to match the offer out of loyalty to the organization he used to coach for. I think that is just a courtesy and the Red Sox will decline to make an offer and allow him to manage the Cubs, but it's telling that the Cubs are now a little more fleet footed then the Red Sox.
